Biography (2000-2010)

Nucleus started off a group of six talented young jazz musicians who have played together since August, 2000, at various public and private venues around Sydney, often performing creditably alongside professional musicians. They were finalists in Hills Talent Search 2003.

In July 2002, Nucleus performed at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival, Switzerland, where they were the youngest group ever to perform, receiving great crowd support, and were also featured on Italian tv.

In 2004 and 2006, They returned, by invitation, to perform in Montreux again including a gig at the famous Musicians Bar in the Montreux Casino, and have returned again in July this year.

Their repertoire is a mix of modern and traditional jazz, with a speciality of great jazz standards from a time 50 years before they were born. They also specialise in New Orleans jazz style street parades.
