Atom is led by the world renowned Rory Thomas of the Music Life School of Performing Arts, Rouse Hill. Rory has performed extensively in Australia and internationally as a concert artist and solo performer on organ and piano. Rory was Musical Director of Godspell in the 1970’s and Musical Director of ATN Channel 7.
This year, in January, Rory received the Order of Australia Medal for his contributions to youth in jazz, in Australia.
Rory is an acclaimed composer and arranger. Much of Atom’s repertoire is made up of original compositions by Rory, as well as a range of traditional, popular and modern jazz.

Atom is an unique jazz band, combining the expertise of a world-class musician with the enthusiasm of extremely talented younger players. As members of Music Life bands and ensembles, they have all performed at the most prestigious Australian and overseas jazz festivals, including the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and Jazz aVienne in France, and have also performed with some of Australia’s leading musicians, including Don Burroughs, Dan Barnett, and both John and James Morrison.
Atom blends a wealth of musical talent in a fabulous ensemble that will be a real treat for all jazz lovers.
